When I was in my first year of college, me and my best friend decided to go abroad for the summer holiday. While we were searching for the destination, my friend sent me this photo.
I was fascinated by the picture. Reading is a passion for me. So we decided to go to Ireland to see Trinity College’s Library. We applied for a summer course for three weeks and went to Ireland. But our course was at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Galway is at the other end of the country. We did not give up and crossed the country horizontally by bus.
When we reached Dublin, we went directly to Trinity College which is founded by Queen Elizabeth in 1592. Graduates of this very prestigious school, include well-known authors such as Oscar Wilde and Samuel Becket and also a lot of Nobel-earned people.
The Long Room covers an enormous area with a room length of 65 meters. This room, whose ceiling is 14 meters high, has been upgraded over time. There are corridors opening to the sides and the upper floors can be reached with very aesthetic stairs.

Trinity College’s library has the right to host a copy of every book published in Ireland. And it also includes 9th-century manuscripts called The Book of Kells, one of the world's oldest and most valuable works, considered one of Ireland's national treasures. Being in a place with more than 200,000 historical books made me excited as a bookworm
It was like a magical place for me. I felt like I was in the Hogwarts Library. My next target is the world’s biggest public library in China, Tianjin Binhai Library. Of course, after these COVID-19 crises.
